Match Preview
Two of the most talented players in this year’s edition of the HSBC Championships will collide in the semi-final on Saturday. Qinwen Zheng has been one of the brighest aspiring stars on the WTA Tour over the last 18 months, winning Olympic gold at last summer’s Games.
Her progression has continued throughout 2025, but she is yet to make the breakthrough in a Grand Slam. However, she has battled to two successive wins on the grass at the HSBC Championship to this point, beating Emma Raducanu in straight sets in the previous round.

Personally, I think Amanda Anisimova is one of the most interesting bets to win Wimbledon next month at +4000. The American’s game perfectly suits the grass surface, and that has been reflected throughout her run to this stage of the competition.
In the previous round, the 23-year-old easily dispatched of the third-seed Emma Navarro, dropping just six games in the process. She is getting better and better with every appearance this year, and she looks set to reach top gear as Wimbledon gets underway at the end of June.
Head-to-Head Record
This will be the second meeting between the stars on the WTA Tour. Zheng won the only previous encounter on a hard surface in 2024.
Qinwen Zheng vs. Amanda Anisimova Picks
I’m not totally convinced that grass is the surface that Zheng will thrive on at the highest level. Therefore, this semi-final clash will make for fascinating viewing. I think Anisimova is more trustworthy on the surface, and she is a good price to maintain her excellent recent form.
