Picks

Los Angeles held off a late surge by the Warriors, claiming a massive road victory in Game 1. Anthony Davis had a dominant game, racking up 30 points, 23 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. If Davis continues to play like that, the Lakers will be tough to beat. They defeated the Warriors on the road despite getting 9 of 24 shooting from LeBron James. They can pick up a major advantage with another road win in Game 2.

The Warriors came up short against the Lakers, after trailing for the majority of the game. Golden State shot nearly 40% from 3-point range, getting 6 made 3-pointers each from Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Jordan Poole. Unfortunately, they also shot just about 40% from 2-pt range. The Warriorsโ€™ lack of a strong paint game will keep being disadvantageous to them. They drew just 12 fouls to the Lakersโ€™ 24.

Picks

After the way Anthony Davis and the Lakers played in Game 1, itโ€™s easy to expect another win from them in Game 2. That being said, it is extremely difficult to win two straight road games in the playoffs, and Golden State is a team full of dangerous shooters. Iโ€™d expect a better performance from Steph Curry in Game 2, and a much more solid game for the Warriors overall. Iโ€™ll take them to win this home game, but not cover.
